Ronald Orval Remy

Ronald Remy, 76, affectionately known as Pop, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on July 3, 2024. 

   He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carolyn Remy; Jeff and Melissa Gibbs of Stkn, Ca., Sherry Remy of Oregon, Robert Jared of Stkn, Ca., Laurie Pitcock of Stkn, Ca., John and Tina Pitcock of Chetopa, Ks., John Pitcock of Stkn, Ca., Josh and Ashly Joyner of Stkn, Ca., Leigh Ann Pitcock of Grand Junction, Co., Rose Gines of Modesto, Ca., Eddie and Samantha Gonzalez of Stkn, Ca., and many, many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, family and friends. He is also survived by his sister Althea Griffith of Stkn, Ca., both the children of Lincoln and Loyce Remy. 

   Ronald was a roofing contractor for 40 plus years. He owned and operated his business in Stockton, where he also built his home, where his wife Carolyn and he lived for 37 years. There they raised a large family, including grandchildren and many friends of his children as well. Everyone was always welcome, and he never turned down an opportunity to help someone or share his knowledge.  

   Along with working, he volunteered his free time to his church, Garden Acres Pentecostal Holiness of East Stockton where he worked on building projects and general Maintenance of the church for many years with his Pastor and good friend, Pastor Ronald Moore. Later he joined the Faith Assembly of God church, also located in East Stockton, where he continued working on building projects. He also served on the board with his long-time family friends Don and Lyndia Faihtinger.  

   Ronald was born on July 13, 1947, at the county hospital in French Camp, Ca. He grew up in East Stockton with his mother, father, younger brother Randal and his 2 younger sisters, Leesta and Althea. 

   He attended Linden High School, in Linden, Ca., he spoke of being the only guy who took typing his senior year. Although he liked to joke and say he only picked that class to meet girls, he took the skills he had learned with him and became a clerk/typist in the Army. 

   Ronald was a great storyteller. Anyone that knew him had heard of the “93” story he loved to tell. He was a poet. He wrote poems and little sayings down constantly in his notebook. He loved to sit and talk. He enjoyed astrology and the constellations. He was also an avid coin collector. He loved a good glass of bourbon and a Harbor Freight sale.  

    There is no way to simply move on. His Presence and personality are missed beyond measure. His absence is felt so strongly. Till we meet again Pop.
