Peter Towsend Waith

After a long fight with varying health conditions, Peter Towsend Waith passed away Tuesday morning, June 8th, 2021, at Clearwater Healthcare Facility in Stockton, CA.

Peter was born in Leguan, Guyana on March 12, 1955, and was the son of parents Louis and Louisa Waith. He was one of 13 children including, Robert, Winston, Ormit, Owen, Louis Jr, Wilmot, Irma, Walter, Enid, Eagan, Gary, and Phyllis. He enjoyed dancing and tending to his garden of fruits and vegetables. He also took pleasure in watching court shows and forensics, always warning friends and family about the dangers of the world. Peter worked several jobs over the course of his life, from prison guard to teacher, before spending many years volunteering at local community centers.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Aloma; his 5 children Peter Jr, Nicoli, Nalini, Amber, and Charnele; 9 grandchildren; Julius, Elijah, Jose III, Jisele, Hayden, Jaslene, Gianna, Jesse, and Alana; and many other nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.

Peter loved to laugh and smile and could strike up a conversation about anything with just about anyone. Once he met you, it was as if he’d known you all his life.
