On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, Dan Mossbarger, Sr., of Tracy, CA, succumbed to cancer at the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family.
Dan is survived by his daughters, Kellie and Heidi, and son, Daniel Jr. and many loving grandchildren. Dan was born on September 6, 1945 in Missouri where he was raised by Jim and Dorothy Mossbarger. His first name came from both his paternal and maternal grandpa. He fondly remembers his mom’s cooking and his father was a chief officer in the Navy and flew in WWII.
His first job was picking prunes and apricots for $.17 a bucket. Dan resided in Tracy for over 40 years where he started a business in the printing industry. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, friend, salesman and businessman.
Dan’s favorite pastimes have been with his children. He would strum his guitar endlessly and sing to them throughout their lives. He also treasured all the memories that were created out on the lake with his family, the sun, and music. In his later years, you could typically find him on his John Deere tractor. He also never missed a NASCAR race for the last several years. He is loved.
