Arne was born at Dameron Hospital, Stockton CA. On November 22, 1936. A graduate of Edison High and Delta College he ran track at both schools. He was an award winning artist of Abstract and Impressionism. He was a Beatnik on Haight-Ashbury Street in San Francisco where he lived till his Hotel burnt down in the early 90’s and lost all his artwork. He never stopped painting.
He was predeceased in death, his parents Ivar and Sara Aasen of Stockton and his brothers Ola Aasen of Stockton and Joel Aasen of Oregon.
He was in the Navy, then for 30 years he worked for The Federal Road of Engineer for the Western U. S. traveling to all the western states, he retired at 65.
He was a quiet man but he was a very civic mined. For 8 years after retirement he Volunteered as a Star’s officer for the Sheriff’s Department, was an Instructor at Department U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps., Volunteered as VIPS Officer of Stockton Police Department.
He was an avid Golfer and even had a few Holes in one at Swenson Golf Course. Arne was a life time member of many Organization, to list a few he was a Freemason, The Knights of Columbus and a member of St Andrew Society. He was a member of the Board for Democratic Organization in Stockton and of the Department of Ageing.
He loved his sports Baseball, Football and Golf, he was always going to the Stockton Ports games and Delta College and UOP Games.
His Memorial will be Oct. 16, 2021 at 1:00pm at St John’s on El Dorado/Miner Stockton, CA
