Charles Franklin Madden, born February 2, 1945 in Fort Worth TX, passed away June 19, 2019 in Jackson, CA. Frank was survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda, his two sons, Mike (Kari), Marc (Yuko) and eight grandchildren. He was also survived by sisters Bobbie and Jan, nieces Kristy and Annie and numerous extended family.
Frank graduated from Clover Park High School in 1963 where he was active in Theater. He went on to attend Clover Park Voc Tech, Olympic College, Seattle University and two years of flight school. In the late 1960's Frank was active in the Explorers and Mountain Rescue in Tacoma, as well as Parachute Jumping out of Pierce County- Thun Field. He also was an avid pilot and entered air races between Hayward, CA and Las Vegas, NV and later was a member of the War Birds of Stockton, CA and SIRS.
Frank enjoyed snow skiing in both Alaska and Washington State. When his sons were growing up he was very involved with their sports. He coached and umpired little league (reportedly for a hot dog and a coke), umpired college baseball, as well as was a football referee.
Frank worked for 30 years in High Voltage Powerline construction, moving frequently throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and California. He retired in 2003.
In 1990 Frank and Brenda settled in Paloma, CA where she remains.
